A bit about me
The Beginning
I studied Fine Art at Middlesex University, once Hornsey School of Art graduating in 1994.
I joke with my parents and friends that I “didn’t do anything with my degree.” But going to Art School taught me to see the bigger picture, research thoroughly and think critically. Immersing myself in a artistic landscape helped me develop visual literacy: the ability to understand or derive the meaning of images.
At first, I fell in love with design as a hobby freelancing for a year. Then got my first job at a design agency in London… the rest as they say is history.
The Middle
My career spans over 20 years in the design industry, starting with my formative years in London working for design agencies with big brand clients. This is where I learnt the industry inside out, from concept through to production.
I have been fortunate to work on a wide variety of design projects, disciplines and market sectors over the course of my career, with my core areas of expertise being Graphic Design & Branding, User Interface & Web Design.
I’ve worked with and learned from some great mentors and peers, which has given me an ability to be both inventive yet deliver a common sense approach, question everything and always put the ‘user’ first.
